Ted Kennedy killed a girl!

YOU are to blame.

Well Ted Kennedy is Dead. At least that's what yahoo said when I logged in this morning. That and the other 600 news media outlets that I have come across today. As in most cases I feel sorry for his family. I'm sure he has a wife, children and grandchildren who will miss him. For that I offer my sincerest condolences. They deserve time to grieve in private.

Unfortunately, this is yet another example of how YOU are to blame for the way America is today.

What? My fault? What does Ted Kennedy dying have to do with America and how is it my fault?

Ted Kennedy was a man who drove drunk, drove off a bridge and killed a young woman. Not one single headline mentioned that. "Ted is great." "A man for the ages", "The most important Kennedy". Are all quotes from major media sources across the USA. Not one, talked about how he killed a young girl and used his political power to sweep it under the carpet. The people that I find the most appalling in this situation are the people of Massachusetts. They literally talk about him as if he wrote the new testament single handedly. I remember years ago when the Clarence Thomas trial was on TV spending the evening with my friend and his parents and grandparents. I was nearly kicked out of the house for saying anything bad about Ted. Those people should be ashamed of themselves.

In typical American fashion we walk through life with Blinders on. We hear what we want to hear and see what we want to see. It's easier to see this guy as a good guy that it is to hold ourselves accountable for letting him sit in office for the last four decades.

So who is to blame? While I could easily blame the biased media in this country for this absurd behavior I won't. It's your fault America! It's your fault for laying back and letting a few idiotic liberals tell the world how you think.

Just as you sat back and watched the media tell the world what a great person Michael Jackson was. A man who dyed his skin and changed his nose to get away from his own race. A grown man who spent all his time with Children. A man who was involved in numerous child molestation cases. We let the media and our culture accept this as being okay. We let it be okay for our media to represent our feelings on such issues.

Michael Vick was recently signed by the Philadelphia Eagles. Living in Philly I have heard and seen it all. There were more protests about him getting a job than any person I have ever seen in professional sports. Ray Lewis was involved in a murder of a human. Plaxico Burress carried a fire arm and shot himself. Ray Carruth murdered his fiancé. Not hardly a word was said about them. Somehow, people like their dogs more than people. We cheer on our athletes because their "our" athletes.

In typical fashion, the national media portrayed Philadelphia as a city of people who were split down the middle on Vick's arrival. In reality, if you were here, you would know that 95% of us didn’t' understand the move or agree with it.

It's your fault. It's your fault that it’s okay for the media to portray only sensational stories that will sell advertising. It’s your fault that it’s okay that we look like the dumbest nation on earth. It's your fault that you sit back and watch your opinions be stated for you.

The next time you want to complain about this country, don't. It's your fault. It’s your fault that it’s okay to be a murderer. It's your fault that people like Martha Stewart get special treatment, you tolerate it. It's your fault that our legal system is the way that it is. You’ve decided that there’s nothing you can do. It’s your fault! You accept things that way they are. Stop blaming everyone else.

The decline of western civilization – Michael Jackson

You may think that this article is about Michael Jackson, but it’s not. In case you haven’t read my other posting I really don’t care about Michael Jackson at all. I don’t know him, I’ve never met him. However, a man died, and for that I absolutely feel for his mother and his family. I even feel bad for him. He clearly had some mental issues that he had been dealing with for decades. In addition, he was clearly talented. He could sing dance and entertain. I don’t think anyone can deny that.

My problem is with our sensationalistic Media. What happened to responsible journalism? I have seen nothing on CNN for two weeks other than Michael Jackson. We are in the midst of international trouble with both Iran and North Korean, our news agencies want to know whether Michael Jacksons dog had flees. I swear to god, the other day I turned on the TV and the headline was “What happened to bubbles the chimp?”. If you want to know why we are quickly becoming the dumbest nation in history, just turn on your set.

Is it too much to ask that this be treated as the tragedy that it is? Let the guy die in peace. Let his family morn. There is no need to talk to 600 people who all “claim” that they really know what is going on.

Maybe it’s me. Maybe I am putting too much stock in the journalism profession as a whole. I always thought that that was one profession where people took pride in their work. That they operated with professional integrity. After all we’ve even passed laws about how you “don’t have to reveal your sources”. They hide under all of the different guises of their profession only to laugh at them as they struggle to keep up with TMZ.

I’m sure if Walter Cronkite were in his prime he would be appalled at what is going on. Watching so called anchors and TV show hosts softball questions to people like Martha Stewart and Paris Hilton. People that don’t deserve to be on television but we can’t wait to get them on, because it’s more important to get ratings than it is to do the right thing.

Here’s the tagline from a search on Google for CNN – CNN.com – Breaking News, US, World, Weather, Entertainment. I don’t know the definition of Breaking News but I am pretty sure that breaking doesn’t imply a 5 day moratorium on all other stories.

Is there anyone that truly cares about Michael Jackson? As I said, I have the utmost sympathy for is family. But do we need camera’s covering these lunatics that are printing posters and marching into the town square with tears rolling down their face? Please. Most of us think that they should back up the funny farm wagon and take these people right to the loony bin. They’re insane. If you are afraid to say it, I will. If you printed the poster for me, sent me down in a limo with Pam Anderson as my escort, I still wouldn’t join up with these whacko’s. You know why? Cause I’m not insane.

If it’s not bad enough that these people have such little going on in their life that they are going to petition the world to talk about Michael Jackson even more than before; our crack journalists in America are there to cover it.

Has anyone mentioned that both of his kids are caucasion? Has anyone mentioned that a grown man spent all his time with little boys? Has anyone mentioned that 50 year old men don’t just die, that it was probably the result of a drug addiciton?

Where is the journalism?
